Can you mix prints?

Mixing prints can be a really tricky trend – but I am informed that by learning a few simple tricks you can soon be pairing pattern like an expert.

As a beginner, I have started by mixing a soft pattern with a bold check and keeping my colour scheme simple in black and white.

A safe way to mixing patterns is by keeping the same colour scheme throughout the outfit. If the colours work together, the prints should work as well. Choose your combination and carry it through the main pieces.

Layer in solids – this way you will still feel ‘put together’. Wear a neutral jacket or minimalist accessories. Breaking up the pattern on pattern with these simple basics will help you avoid overload.
