Hi everyone
After a 2 month break I am back – and what a busy 2 months this has been.
At the beginning of September our daughter Fiona married her very own – Prince William.
Fiona and her bridesmaids met in our suite for a champagne breakfast to be followed by hair and make-up.
It was fun being with the girls and made me realise what great friends Fiona has.
The beautiful flowers arrived.
Abi did a great job with make-up
and Katie worked tirelessly on everyone’s hair.
The sun shone down and we enjoyed a balmy 23 degrees.
The venue for the wedding was ‘Oaks Farm’. Just 10 miles from London and a stone’s throw from Croydon and Bromley, this idyllic wedding venue is set against a backdrop of rolling hills and rural beauty. A truly idyllic setting for a memorable day.
The wedding ceremony was held inside the romantic stables lined with glowing candles and scented flowers.
Wedding guests enjoyed champagne, Aperol Spritz and canapes on the lawns or by the picturesque lily pond.
A delicious wedding breakfast was served in the cosy oak beamed barn.
While the tables were moved and rearranged for an evening of ‘Ceilidh’ and disco Mr Mc, myself and our guests relaxed in the orangery or by the picturesque lily pond.
Cutting the cake……
First dance…….
This truly was a magical day. They are such a great couple and I wish them a long and happy marriage. I now have a son-in-law!!!
With only one daughter I will never be the ‘mother of the bride again but I enjoyed every part of their journey, planning, wedding dress shopping, hen parties ‘1’ and ‘2’ along with what I believe to have been the most important part – being supportive.
I do hope you have enjoyed sharing one of the best days both Mr Mc and myself have enjoyed.
Wishing the happy couple a long and happy marriage
with love – Jill x

I think it took me longer to find my dress than it took Fiona to find her wedding dress. The day was over too quickly but everyone enjoyed themselves.

Thank you Laura – I think I enjoyed it more than my own wedding day. Hubby even wore a kilt which he had promised Fiona he would when she was a very little girl x

Oh congratulations – what a beautiful wedding and a gorgeous bride! You looked really beautiful, yourself – I love that dress and the hat! Looks like a lot of fun the morning of the wedding, too. What a fabulous cake – I just love that topper. And the flowers are gorgeous, too. I can imagine why you’ve had very little time over the last couple of months.
